RARE Vintage Wood 1910 Fairview Chicago Fishtail Grip Tennis Racket CLASSIC antique nice old early wood wooden racquet with solid mahogany wedge and elongated head design: only 8 ¼ inches wide NOTE: Just in time for Wimbledon. Part of a group of 9 rackets I just found. I will list one racket a day between June 16 and June 24. Will combine items for reduced postage for multiple purchases. MODEL: 1900 - 1910 Fairview made in Chicago HEAD: Classic period elongated oval; it is only 8 ¼ wide. Stock is square at the shoulders and all around the head WARPING: none FRAME: excellent condition with old soft glow finish mostly intact; expected wear to the top of the head. Very very very slight cupping to the head… barely there but I wanted to note it. THROAT WEDGE: convex solid mahogany wedge STRINGS: INTACT and replaced as shown: look like 1930s replacement gut but am not sure of this BANDING: none; pre-dates banding materials DECALS: As shown; VG / excellent condition. Decal on only one side of the racket GRIP: 4 1/2 inches STAMPS: 14 OZ. for the weight ; SECOND WEIGHT: weighs 13.2 ounces actual weight END CAP: never had a leather strip or end cap; fishtail has minor chipping and minor losses Postage will be based on 3.5 pounds of packed weight.
