This is a used tennis racquet with minor paint and/or finish imperfections. Racquet is structurally and functionally in good condition. Bridgestone of Japan made its name in the tire industry, but like many Japanese industrial businesses, diversified its product base in the 1960’s by adding motorcycle production to its resume. In the 1970’s, it also began producing and exporting bicycles (its models from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s now have a cult following among the cognoscenti of the bicycle world), and it later began producing golf and tennis equipment, for the serious Japanese leisure sports market. Its tennis racquets were solid, top quality designs, and beautifully made (and expensive!!!), but are seldom seen outside the Asian market, where the brand has a cult following. Here for your consideration is a mid-1990’s midplus model, the Probeam Limited. 95 square inch design very closely mimics the Prince Graphite mid(plus), with its single throat crossbar. The Bridgestone features a unique I-beam cross section through the head, though, and a denser 16x19 string pattern. This specimen has been used lightly, and is in good overall condition, showing minor scuffing on the plastic bumper guard, and minor paint blemishes (notably, one paint chip at the 6 o’clock position, most likely from a careless stringer). Strung with TOA Toalson (Leoina) 66 at approximately 55 pounds, grip size 4-1/2” with a Gamma High Tech grip in good condition. Original racquet protecting bag with drawstring included. Priority Mail shipping to continental USA is $12.00. Please take a look at my other auctions for more interesting classic tennis gear.
