New, plastic on handle, Wilson Burn 100ULS UltraLite 18X16 tennis racket in a midplus 100 square inch head.any question contact us prior to ordering, either via email mikemorris at prodigy.net or call 972 820 0619The Burn 100ULS UltraLite weighs 9.2 ounces unstrung and is 27 inches long. It is balanced at 33.5 cm for a 2 pt. head light rating.
This Burn 100ULS UltraLite utilizes Wilson's High Performance Carbon Fiber, X2 Shaft, Spin Effect, Parallel Drilling, and Smart Tennis Sensor technology.  In a departure from the BLX material, Wilson made this racket out of High Performance Carbon Fiber to increase frame stiffness.  X2 Shaft technology is a combination of a longer handle to accomodate two handed grips and a ergonomic shaft shape to allow a quicker change of grip positions.  I have yet to find a Wilson racket that actually has parallel drilled grommets.  Wilson did appear to angle the grommets at the 2/5/8/10 points of the head a little more in line with the other grommets but I think Wilson engineers have an odd definition of the word parallel.  At any rate, Wilson claims that parallel drilling provides a consistent, more forgiving stringbed response while dramatically increasing the sweetspot.   Enough said.  Spin Effect Technology is achieved by decreasing the number of cross strings which allows larger string spacing for a better 'bite' of the ball.  I feel these frames will also last longer because these string patterns tend to balance the string tension throughout the string bed. This racket is Smart Tennis Sensor ready.  The easy-to-remove butt cap trap door insert allows you to insert the Sony Smart Tennis Sensor(not included) on your racket and let the built-in motion and vibration sensors analyze each stroke. Results are beamed through Bluetooth® connection to your smartphone so you can see them right away.Recommended string tension is 50 to 60 lbs on this 18X16 string pattern.   My Babolat RDC tested the frame stiffness at 68 so it looks like Wilson's High Performance Carbon Fibers are delivering on their promise of big power for the baseliner that Wilson built this racket for.  With a variable beam width of 23.5/25/24.5, an open spin string pattern, and a midplus head size of 100, I would recommend this racket for the aspiring junior or smaller person that would like a huge serve and powerful groundstrokes to dominate their opponents. String and String Installation are now available for purchase.  We carry over 100 different strings and a wide variety of colors.  Please contact us for price quotes. The listing includes Wilson's limited manufacturer's warranty.  The Columbian Tennis Shop business model is to stock hard to find rackets for customers who do not want to change rackets. It costs a little more to store them but we think we provide a needed service to those players. If you have any shipping questions, please email us before you purchase.
