It's also quite stable thanks to its higher swingweight (328 RDC). New to this version is a redesigned Basalt/Graphite layup, a feature that increases flexibility in key areas so as to provide better dwell time and heightened command over the ball. Wilson also adds Parallel Drilling to this model in order to expand the sweetspot and increase the responsiveness on off-center hits. From the baseline the Blade 98 rewards big swings with a heavy ball. Topspin players will find more than enough spin from the open 16x19 pattern to bring the ball down on target. At net this stick offers a great blend of speed and stability, with plenty of pop available to help finish the point. Finally, there's a lethal combination of power and accuracy on serves so you can start every point offensively. Ultimately, this is a great option for intermediate and advanced players who want a nice balance of power and control.
