Margaret Smith Court is a retired world no.1 professional tennis player. In 1970 she became the first woman during the Open Era to win the singles Grand Slam. Only Steffi Graf equaled this in 1988. Little Mo did it in the 1950's as an amateur.
She shares the open era record for most singles titles as a mother with Kim Clijsters.
Margaret Court won 24 singles Grand Slam titles, more than Serena or Steffi (22), over her career.
