Ebay is a community based on accurate feedback. I am not a storefront and although I am fairly active on here, I do not sell thousands of items a month. Because of that, even one negative feedback hurts. I do my very best to work with buyers and describe my items to the best of my ability and take pictures of the actual items. With that said, I have integrity and all I expect is the same in return. I understand the concept of the customer always being right, but I can not afford to take a hit to pay shipping both ways (especially on large items) if you are going to be unreasonable. As much as you want to have a positive buying experience, I want to have a positive selling experience. I have run into several extremely unreasonable buyers this year and I have decided to post a “hall of shame” below to address each one. Ebay will not remove negative feedback, no matter how unwarranted or ridiculous it is. So please… all I ask is that you are honest and not unreasonable if you are bidding on an item I have listed. June 2016. Nylon Belt. This buyer purchased a belt that I measured to 41.” He must have misread this as being for a 41” waist. I refused the return request and pay return shipping. Negative feedback was left. June 2016. Vurtego V4. This item was used literally 3 times. It was 100% functional, practically bran new out of the box. The buyer claimed it broke upon first use. Which is possible if the wrong air pressure was used for the item. Negative feedback was left within a few hours of their initial contact about this and a return request was placed. Buyer has never been heard from since. This item cost over $40 to ship one way. I explained to ebay that I could not take a loss of over $80 plus end up with a broken item that I could not re-list. Fortunately the item never came back from the buyer. January 2016. Sony camera. Item was lightly used and in excellent condition. Buyer claimed it “wouldn’t focus” and wanted me to pay for shipping both ways with his return. Once the camera was returned, I tested it and it (as suspected) functioned perfectly. After this I refused to pay his return shipping. He left negative feedback. I then relisted the same camera and have since received positive feedback from the second buyer. Clearly nothing wrong with it.January 2016. Bike axle. Buyer requested a return well after a month after the item was sent out. There were 3 pictures of the item that clearly showed the condition, which was very good. There are only 2 moving parts on these axles to begin with- it is nearly impossible for them to break unless very abused. I would not accept a return after that much time had passed. Negative feedback left. January 2016. Delica Knife. This one takes the cake for the most ridiculous feedback of all time. This buyer lives in the same state as I do. The auction ended Nov 9th and he had it in hand on Nov 13th (taking into account the postal holiday that week as well). He said via email that because we were are in the same state, he should have had his item next day. Would not change feedback.
