An tremendous collectible for a true Bjorn Borg tennis fan. This racket was purchased directly from the private collection of Lennart Bergelin, Bjorn Borg's longtime coach and manager. I was introduced to Niclas Bergelin, Lennart's son, a few years ago and Niclas was in possession of his father's personal collection of Borg's personal rackets. Niclas presented me with Bjorn's actual match used racket and had Bjorn personally sign the racket. Unfortunately there is now way to accurately trace back to when or where Bjorn Borg used the racket in a match. The racket could have been played anywhere where Bjorn was playing in the US, Canada or Japan under his contract with Bancroft. Maybe even at one of the finals of the US Open in 1976 or 1978. You will notice a few distinct features that distinguish this racket as Bjorn' personal racket from the other Bancroft rackets for sale. First, notice the Bancroft...it is spelt with capital letters. This was to allow for more logo visibility in the media and on TV when Bjorn played. Second, the grip is a custom wrapped fairway leather grip. Bjorn used two single length fairway grips wrapped together to get the longer two-handed grip. Borg did the same with his Donnay rackets as well. Third, on the side of the racket is the number 404. This is the gram weight of the racket. All of Borg's rackets were custom made. Each racket would vary in weight. Lennart Bergelin would weight the rackets and list the gram weight. When I received the racket Niclas also sent me a letter of authenticity listing some of the facts of the racket. This letter was signed by Bjorn Borg and it was addressed to me personally. This letter was misplaced during an office move. I am actively searching for the letter and will post a photo of the letter. I have also listed for auction an authentic Bjorn Borg owned Donnay Borg Pro. So check that one out as well.I will ship worldwide. Buyer pays the shipping cost. Please email me or feel free to call at 702-296-9865All the best!!!!
