The clean, crisp response allowed the players to hit with precision from all areas of the court. The Coral Wave weighs 9.3 ounces unstrung and is 27.25 inches long. It is balanced at 32.5 cm for a 7 pt head light rating. The Coral Wave BLX features Wilson's Performance Hybrid grip which has a cotton base that allows a softer feel than leather yet firmer feel than foam and provides excellent moisture absorption. The tackified polyurethane outer cover gives players a high performance feeling grip, and the medium thickness at 1.8mm provides all around racquet control.
The Coral Wave BLX utilizes Wilson's new BLX technology which incorporates fibers of basalt, a natural volcanic rock, longitudinally into the Karophite Black. According to Wilson, the result is a significant reduction in vibrations in the racquet. Recommended string tension is 53 to 63 lbs on this 16X19 string pattern where I recommend going down 2 lbs in the cross strings to equalize string pressure throughout the frame. With a stiffness of 61, a straight beam width of 24mm, and a forgiving head size of 105; I would recommend this racket for players with medium fast swings who want to swing aggressively without worrying about losing control.
