Vintage Bright Clean Wood 1905 Marathon BEVERLY Tennis Racket Excellent bright clean and crisp condition with soft mellow original finish. Antique old early wood wooden.NOTE: Part of a group of rackets I just found. I will list one racket a day between September 17 and September 26. Will combine items for reduced postage for multiple purchases.MODEL: 1905 Marathon “ BEVERLY” HEAD: Classic period elongated oval; stock is square at the shoulders and all the way around the top of the head. Much less than expected scuffing to the top of the head. WARPING: noneFRAME: wonderful crisp and clean condition; original finish retains a soft and mellow glowTHROAT WEDGE: The 1905 patent 5-piece convex style STRINGS: looks like original lamb gut with distinctive designBANDING: none; pre-dates banding decorationDECALS: As shown; excellent GRIP: 5 inches; shallow grooves; pre-dates grip materialSTAMPS: B 13 ½ OZWEIGHT: weighs 13.4 ounces actual weightEND CAP: leather strip almost completely intact with minor loss as shown in the photo; end cap excellent as shown Postage will be based on 3.5 pounds of packed weight.
