Vintage Wood 1920 Red Throat Edward Tryon Philadelphia Tennis Racket Classic antique nice old early wood wooden racquet from hard-to-find maker with colorful red throat paintNOTE: Part of a group of rackets I just found. I will list one racket a day between September 17 and September 26. Will combine items for reduced postage for multiple purchases.MODEL: 1920 racket by Edw. K. Tryon Co. Philadelphia PAHEAD: Classic period oval; stock is square at the shoulders and rounded over as it goes around the top of head; retains much of original finish WARPING: noneFRAME: excellent condition; expected wear to the top of the head.THROAT WEDGE: concave and laminated in place in the style of the periodSTRINGS: as shown; look like modern replacementBANDING: 4 red color coordinated silk thread bands; intact and completeDECALS: As shown; unusual decal for this companyGRIP: 4 3/4” with shallow grooves; pre-dates grip material STAMPS: 14 OZ for the weight as shown WEIGHT: weighs 14.1 ounces actual weightEND CAP: leather strip with minor loss as shown; otherwise very little wear; end cap 99% intact as shownPostage will be based on 3.5 pounds of packed weight.
