Oh, this is the ONE! This is the holy grail that Pete Sampras and Jim Courier would scour the earth for, before Ebay was invented. This is a true St. Vincent built (KRQ code) Wilson Pro Staff. I've owned the racquet since '87 (I think). I used it only occasionally when I first got it. It saw a little heavier use after the first year, but I had three other racquets to choose from, so it still wasn't used on a "regular basis". Since blowing out my knee 15+ years ago, this racquet hasn't seen the light of day much. Like Cameron Fry's father's California Ferrari, I look at it every once in a while, rub it with a cloth diaper, swing it a few times, then put it back in its case. I'd love to be able to play with it again, but my knees won't let me. You can see from the pics that the racquet's in great shape. I tried to rub some stone dust into the code on the butt cap so you can see the "Q", the last of the three letters, which denotes St. Vincent factory production. This really is a wonderful raquet and I would love for it to go to someone who would appreciate as much as I do. And just like a vintage Ferrari, this thing deserves to be taken out and played with regularly. The winning bidder will get shipping confirmation from me, but it might take a few days to get to the Post Office. Saturday is usually my day to go. But the racquet will go out by Priority Mail or UPS, so you should have it within 3 days of me sending the tracking number, assuming you're in the lower 48. International shipping, and shipping to Alaska and Hawaii, can also be arranged for the appropriate fees. I encourage you to ask any questions you might have about the raquet. I have nothing to hide with it. It's in great shape. Bid with confidence. You'll be giddy with excitement when the box gets there, and when you open it, I promise you'll be very pleased with your purchase... STRINGS - The strings are synthetic (Prince I think) and have been on the racquet for the better part of 20 years. They show zero wear and are still under their original tension (65lbs I believe). You can hit with this thing right out of the box. |
