Intro
This Yonex frame has primarily black with white, silver, and orange cosmetics. It is constructed using HM Graphite and X-Fullerene technology. It is 6 points head light while weighing out at 11.5 ounces (strung). The head size is 98 square inches with a 16 x 19 string pattern.Groundstrokes
Right away, I felt that this racquet added extra topspin to my groundstrokes without sacrificing depth or power. It’s definitely on the heavier side, but that seemed to help me get the momentum I needed on my follow through. I also found the racquet to be very forgiving. My groundstrokes did not go too far off the initial target on off-center shots. Varying groundstrokes was very easy with this racquet. I was able to change the depth and angle of my shots with ease. Slicing was very easy to control with this racquet.Volleys
This is an extremely volley-friendly racquet in my opinion. Sticking volleys to intended targets was done with ease. The racquet offers great precision, and despite its significant weight, I was able to hit reflex volleys without difficulty.
Serves
In contrast to adding good spin on my groundstrokes, I felt that I could not as easily put spin on my serve with this racquet, which may be due, in part, to the weight and balance. What it lacked for spin on my serve it made up for in power. I was definitely able to add speed to my first serve without any issues. Also, this racquet produced consistent serves with every one hit.Overall
I enjoyed this racquet very much. I am currently in the market for a new racquet and am considering this one. This is a great player’s frame that offers good stability, power, spin, and consistency from all areas of the court. I would recommend this racquet for any 4.0 and above players with an all around game that is looking for a racquet that will reward them from all areas of the court.Racquet Specs Head Size: 98 sq. in.
