Vintage Wood 1920s Leacock St Louis CALIFORNIA MODEL B Tennis Racket Leacock’s was the St. Louis most recognized sporting goods retailer; this racket was supplied by California By-Products Antique old early wood wooden racquet from hard to find maker NOTE: Part of a group of rackets I just found. I will list one racket a day between October 21 and October 30. Will combine items for reduced postage for multiple purchases. MODEL: 1920s California Model B HEAD: Classic period oval; stock is square at the shoulders and rounded as it goes around the top of the head WARPING: none FRAME: retains much of old finish on the wedge and frame; less than expected wear to the top of the head THROAT WEDGE: Concave in the style of the period; laminated in place STRINGS: original mustard color lamb gut in super condition Just one break in the mains and a couple in the “trim” stringing. BANDING: beautiful 10 original silk color coordinated bands of red and blue in wonderful intact condition DECALS: As shown GRIP: large 5 inches, wide deep grooves; never had grip material STAMPS: none WEIGHT: weighs 13.1 ounces actual weight END CAP: leather strip almost completely intact with almost no wear as shown in the photo; end cap as shown Postage will be based on 3.5 pounds of packed weight.
