Vintage late 1920's Casino Tennis Racket with Press. Made by the N.J. Magnon Corp. in Attleboro, Mass. USA. Very sturdy condition even though it has some chips out at the base of the stringed surface. [ See Casino and N.J.Magnon Corp. pictures] The strings appear to be the original. There are none broken. The wooden press is in working condition, but is broken at the top corner.[See picture] The Racket is not warped. The press is marked A. J. Reach W & D on the top of one side.[ The A and D are worn off] The bottom of the press is marked BT Press. [ a telecommunications company established in 1846 in the UK ] Below that , it is marked Flower Patent 796596. [ Patent was applied for on March 1, 1928 ] On the other side, on the top is someone's name.[ Mr. KugELMAN ] I thought the use of upper and lower case letters was odd. This racket and press aren't in excellent condition, but they would make an interesting addition to someone's collection or a nice wall decoration. Please email any questions or comments.
