Vintage Heavy Solid Wood 1920 Bulbous Grip E Kent Duchess Tennis Racket Intact Original Strings Unusual style grip; probably less than 1% of early rackets have this grip design. CLASSIC Antique nice old early wood wooden racquet from well-known but hard to find Rhode Island maker NOTE: Part of a group of 13 rackets. I will list two rackets a day between February 9 and February 14. Will combine items for much reduced postage for multiple purchases.. MODEL: 1920 E Kent DUCHESS; Kent was based in Pawtucket, RI HEAD: Classic period oval; stock is square at the shoulders and slightly chamfered at the top of head WARPING: none FRAME: excellent condition with almost all of the original finish; less than expected wear to the top of the head. An owner has “carved” initials into the wedge on both sides as shown THROAT WEDGE: concave and laminated in place in the style of the period STRINGS: Original and fully intact, including the trebling; look like original lamb gut in dark red color BANDING: has the two original black silk thread bands DECALS: As shown GRIP: Rare beautiful bulbous design: 4 inches at the narrowest point; 5 ¼ inches at the widest point on the bottom end; pre-dates grip material; narrow grooves STAMPS: 14 OZ for the weight as shown WEIGHT: weighs 13.4 ounces actual weight END CAP: no leather strip; most likely never had one (no nail holes); end cap as shown (probably did not have one of those either) Postage will be based on 3.5 pounds of packed weight. International buyer: please wait for MY invoice. International shipping: Approximately $45 for one racket; $4 for each additional racket in the same box.
