Vintage Collectible Teddy Tingling Tennis dress worn at Wimbledon in 1950's/1960's. Sleeveless form fitting dress (we believe 100% cotton but there is no label) with back zipper and decorative flower trim. Metal zipper tab in shape of a tennis racquet with TT initials. Dress is in excellent condition for age.Underarm to underarm 17 (34"), waist 14 (28") length 28".Teddy Tingling was a major presence in the world of international tennis from the late 1920's until his death at age 79 in 1990. Among the roles he filled were player, umpire, announcer, ombudsman, raconteur, historian and designer to generations of champions.Teddy Tingling won numerous awards including the British Clothing Institute Designer of the Year award in 1971 and the International Tennis Hall of Fame award in 1986.
