For your consideration: Up for auction we have a really nice Vintage 1980's Wilson Pro Staff Midsize Kevlar/Graphite tennis racquet. The basic racquet measurements are as follows: Total Length: 27 inches Total Inside Head Length: 12 inches Total Inside Head Width: 8 3/4 inches Grip Size: 4 3/4 inches Racquet Weight: 12.8 ounces This series of Wilson Pro Staff racquets is one of Wilson's most iconic series of all time. They continue to be univerally well regarded for their playability and are still widely used today...BUT...since you are looking at this...I know you know that already...so nuff said.This racquet has the letter code AXO or AXQ stamped on the handle butt. I think it is actually AXQ, but it is hard to tell for sure. There appears to be a little straight "tail" coming off of the O where it should be for this to be the letter Q...but it is just light enough in the stamping...that I can not tell completely for sure...but...I really do think it is AXQ.
This racquet is strung with Babolat Double Line Synthetic Gut string.The grip is a leather grip, very similar to what the factory original grips was...but this grip was built up significantly, as the current grip size is 4 3/4, instead of the 4 1/2 that is marked on the racquet. The grip is very slick at this point, and although it could be re-conditioned and likely saved and brought back to a usable level of tack...I suspect that the easy way to deal with this would just be to re-grip, or over-wrap this grip...but remember...the grip right now is 4 3/4.
This racquet is used, but is in very good condition, showing light to moderate signs of use or wear. Be sure to read the condition "box" above for a more detailed condition description, and be sure to check out all of the pictures.
