The Head YouTek Radical is the latest version of Head's hugely successful Radical series inspired by Andre Agassi. Makes use of new Head technologies such as d3o and DuPont Teflon grommets in a player-oriented package. Keeping most specifications consistent with past generations of Head Radicals, the YouTek Radical MP offers a 98 square inch head, moderately thin 21.5mm beam, and 11 oz. strung weight add up to a control and feel oriented stick for more advanced players. Head introduces d3o technology in the Head Speed Pro, and is a "smart" material in that it behaves differently under varying dynamic loading or impact. Integrated in the frame lay-up and positioned in the shaft area (where the racquet flexes the most), d3o seeks to help players maximize performance on all shots. High speed impacts lock d3o together within nanoseconds at the molecular level, stiffening the frame to provide maximum power. Conversely, on slower speed impacts, the d3o molecules absorb the impact providing softer touch for better feel. The YouTek Radical also uses a DuPont Teflon grommet system that reduces friction.
